The Ross-on-Wye Branch of the Royal British Legion would like to thank all the townspeople for the tremendous support they gave with their attendance during the 2011 Remembrance. Firstly on the 11.11.11 when the Market Place was full of people during the Act of Remembrance and shops and offices paused to pay their respects.

Then on Sunday 13th November at the Wreath Laying Ceremony at the War Memorial and the Service of Remembrance at St Mary's Church. The branch would like to offer special thanks to Lady Darnley, HM Lord Lieutenant of Herefordshire, for attending our parade and service this year together with representatives from the County and Town Councils.

On a beautiful sunny morning many of the organisations within the town paraded onto the Prospect and laid wreaths to mark their respects to the fallen.

The President and the newly-elected committee wish to thank Mr Frederick Jones who has been acting as Chairman during the period prior to the Annual General Meeting and who arranged the Remembrance events.  His dedication and hard work over the last few months has secured a strong future for the branch.
