New roles                                         Being a star performer is not a condition!

More on roles for keen readers.  There are no conditions.  Being public-spirited helps.

The roles, beyond Officers, are:

Media Secretary                                   looking after the publicity

Community Secretary                           liaising with schools, interest groups here, and businesses

Website advisor                                   occasionally helping with topics such as Media and a new system

which is interactive.  There will be  no meetings to attend.

The list is testimony to the need for new people on board and the hard work which is being done by a too-small group now.

The branch aim is small teams or groups, each one with a leader. The leaders report to the committee thereby savng it valuable time discussing lots of detail. As new committee members come forward, an existing member shows them the ropes. Even if these roles don't appeal to you, they might appeal to people you know and so, let the branch know. Come aboard as a committee member. If you would like to be a member, you will be equally welcome.

You might ask how on earth Ross British Legion managed before. The answer is that committee members, many of them at the senior-citizen stage of life, have been stretched to capacity and need to rest. If you are younger, energetic and have time to help, the branch wants to hear from you. Please use the Contact page.

Arrival!

The branch needs you

Perhaps you're one of those people who likes to be involved in what is going on locally. The branch is looking for a Community Secretary to liaise with schools and interest groups, particularly those comprising the younger generations. You could also connect with local businesses regarding the support to be given to Armed Services personnel who need it. Business sponsorship is also on the list which might appeal to the same person or someone else.

The branch is conscious of its need to connect to the 21st century and young people. There is a Media page for Internet enthusiasts, and a Musical Youth page for others who like the sound of music. The Christiana page is devoted to a ten-year-old girl who lives in the Forest of Dean and who has written an inspiring poem. Perhaps a more local youthful poet will be equally inspired.

If an advisor came forward to make the branch website interactive, the branch would be grateful.  We hope that readers can post their comments.  The advice is needed occasionally and it would be welcome.
