Social media

An appeal to the Internet Generations from the Scrabble Generation (i e, those not "connected" and not those of any age who enjoy Scrabble).

In the days of board games around 1970 Before Computers, tea and biscuits was the order of the day for all generations.  You can't share tea over the Internet.  Perhaps if you use a camera attached to your laptop, you can raise your cup to the screen.

Readers might sympathise with these thoughts and lend a mouse. Let's look at the board first.

Starting with “British Legion” on the Scrabble board, it is there due to branch under-utilisation of the Royal British Legion Facebook and Twitter website pages.    The Legion's capacity to help those branches which want to engage in social networking needs to be explored.

When we are joined by new, younger branch members who could build a Facebook community page for our branch, we will be delighted.  We have a Poppy Appeal presence on Facebook and Twitter.  Read about our "linchpins" who raised a lot of money here.  Here is another Facebook link but you need to have registered to read it.

The branch would like to appoint a Community Secretary and a Media Secretary and both could liaise with any Webmaster advisor who comes forward.

Come aboard the Ross British Legion river-boat and bring your mouse with you!
